New Year's Goals!Alright, so every year I make goals or write down things I want to do then see how many I managed to accomplished. So far since I started doing it while in college (admittedly 5 years ago) I have managed to get more and more things done on my new list each year. I thought this year I would share some of the things I wanted to do... so maybe I'll inspire you or to push myself further.
- Brush Teeth after every meal
- Floss every day (not just randomly)
- Portion control my meals, smaller plates = smaller portions, no seconds, etc.
- Continue not eating/drinking: Soda (2 years now), No Alfredo or Chinese food (1 year now)
- Give up Fried Food completely (Except for Chicken Wings)
- Give up Candy and Sweets and that crapola
- Stop saying the "F" word

Some Stuff...Ah the life of a teacher, naturally my immune system is strong, but not strong enough this year. I have been icky ill the past week, hence my nonexistence on this site. So to catch up I thought I'd do a journal post.
Whoever gave me a 3 month membership THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I really appreciate it since mine was going to run out and I haven't had room in my budget to renew because of Christmas. I am so thankful.
Anyways, I shall be getting back to everyone who left comments, it just might take me awhile. Hope everyones well... one more week of school then break!

What a Day...Hello everyone!
Personal Journal not a feature, although it is on my to do list to do a feature I've just been so busy.
I've had quite the day I just had to post if not for a little sympathy then to rant. I'll start out by saying, it really wasn't horrible and I know that, but it still was exhausting. It has been tiring to say the least.
I went to school and had to deal with an irate parent who thinks my job is to do the work for their son. News flash: teachers teach not do the work for the student that is their job. Very frustrating, especially when I bend over backwards making it easy for this student to make up work, extend deadlines, only to have them fail because they are lazy. UGHHHH.
Then on my way to my second job of the day (office type job) I witnessed an accident which was horrible. Seven police cars, ambulances, firetrucks the whole shebang. No one died though which is good.
THEN on the way home from my second job onto my third job of the day (babysitting over night while t
Feature and Ramblings!I went to the Utica Zoo on Saturday and went to the Buffalo Zoo today but I have to admit I'm somewhat disappointed... It ended up pouring more than being actually decent weather for both days... Lots of animals were not out. I am supposed to go to work tomorrow but I might go to the zoo near me instead... Bad me, I know but so tempting.
So anyways I'm stealing this idea from SilverVulpine, take a look at the lists of animals and comment requests for photos of certain animals! You CAN Do It Too! Commissions, Exposure, and...
Do you feel like no one cares about your artwork? That no matter how hard you try, you'll never improve? Well, I've been there before.
A little less than a year ago, I didn't even have 100 watchers. It was tough trying to find commissions, even though I priced them around 10 - 100 an hour. Sure, I had some wonderful people supporting me (thank you very much for that!), but when I looked at the thousands of diehard fans the "popular" artists had, I felt kinda useless. It seemed like even a thousand watchers, or just being able to earn minimum wage was impossible. Sometimes I wanted to cry from all the effort I put in. I kept drawing and drawing but barely improving. I was frustrated and felt useless. But instead of giving up, I pushed myself even harder, and by God's grace it's starting to work out for me.
I now have over 16,000 amazing people encouraging me, and I know it's only a matter of tim
No more excuses, it's time to improve your art! You’re probably well acquainted with the old proverb “practice makes perfect.” And while I don’t fully believe that perfection is attainable, because the very notion of perfection is somewhat subjective, getting better at anything requires both time and effort. I’m going be very blunt here; if you want to improve your artistic skill you need to actually practice.
My heart goes out to everyone here who is struggling to improve so don’t feel that I’m purposely singling you out here. However throughout my time on dA (and in real life) I’ve met artists begging for advice on how to quickly improve and sadly when I tell them to begin practicing the excuse is always ‘well, I don’t really have the time for that.’
And I ain’t got time for yo attitude.
You do have the time

Basic CSS Style GuideIntroduction
CSS is a style language used to define the style and formatting of web pages. It is used in conjunction with HTML.
If we think of HTML as the building blocks of the web then, essentially, CSS is the painter and decorator. Very simply, HTML defines the structure of the page and CSS defines the style.
What I'll be helping you with here is getting to grips with the basics of CSS. I'll be explaining how use CSS as well as providing a number of examples that you can use to style your own web pages and journals. All you need to do is copy/paste the code and replace the sample text with your own content. Along with the quick reference I've also written a brief glossary of terms and provided a list of useful links in case you wish to do some further reading.
A point of note is that while the information and examples I've given here apply to CSS use anywhere on the web, this guide itself is geared towards the use of CSS on deviantART. As such, and given that this h

JULY Challenge WATER vote and win points:icontransparentplz:
All works here
This is the new way to find our winner of our monthly challenge: instead using a Poll with the ten most voted of the period, we'll be using a blog to showcase the 20 MOST VOTED on this theme!
This means, or so I hope, more exposure for your pieces and galleries.
The idea is simple: each work has a number and all deviants have the opportunity to vote like if it was a poll...with the difference that you will choose not one but 3 favourites!
All deviants may vote, INCLUSIVE who is participating; the participants may vote for themselves and ask friends and watchers to vote; this blog may have publicity by all means and be submitted in groups.
The work with most votes wins 130 points;
the second place wins 80, the 3rd place wins 50 and the 4th wins 25 .
These prizes c

Manip AcademyIntroducing a new project!
Manip Academy (thanks, cristii, for inspiration for the name) is a new photomanipulation project inspired by projecteducate. We all love to learn, and we learn best from one another. Here's our chance to share what we know.
Manip Academy is an education initiative designed to spread the knowledge and the love. It is a collaboration between CRPhotomanipulation and we-HEART-photomanip. We will share tips and tricks for photomanipulation success. It is difficult to write tutorials, but anyone can write a simple tip or describe how they achieved a specific effect.
This project will feature two weekly articles written by the community every week, on Mondays and Thursdays. This will be an ongoing project within our community, and we hope that many people will take advantage of the chance to sign up to submit one blog or even just a few sentences to help the community.
